A founder gives five employees coding agents. By Friday, five demos work. On Monday, the manager is reopening specs, asking agents to rerun failed paths and deciding whether any of these tools should exist at all.
One tool needs access approval. Another fails a retry test. A third already duplicates a maintained SaaS product. Nobody is hand-rewriting five codebases; the manager is re-prompting, retesting, redeploying and losing time from the actual business. Hypothetical case.
Give each proposal a named owner, a pass condition and a buy-versus-build decision before another iteration. Log the manager's intervention cycles, the accepted results and the customer work displaced while the demos are repaired.
Limit concurrent agent projects to the number of decisions qualified owners can actually close. Measure kept outcomes per manager hour. Do this because five plausible demos can become five recurring claims on one person's attention.
